Do cardiovascular complications in post-COVID have an autoimmune disease mechanism? A comprehensive translational study
Post-covid is a new disease that can affect patients with acute SARS-CoV-2 infection and can lead to severe and prolonged suffering. There is currently no established treatment for the disease. The project aims to investigate whether autoimmunity is an important disease mechanism by examining patient samples and cell and animal models. If evidence is found that autoimmunity is an important disease mechanism, a clinical trial with drugs against that mechanism will be conducted.
