Identification of coronary plaque causing type 1 myocardial infarction using coronary computed tomography and deep-learning algorithms
Despite advances in treatment, heart attacks remain one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and there is still no good way to predict who will be affected. The aim of the SCAPIS project is to investigate whether advanced imaging (computed tomography) alone or in combination with analysis of blood samples and artificial intelligence (deep learning models) can identify the coronary plaques that then cause heart attacks. If we succeed, prevention efforts, including treatments, can be more precise and targeted.
